Fish’n’Chirps is the company name I use for my business writing.
As a pet store owner, I see a lot of promotional material. As a writer, I think some of it could be clearer, fresher, and easier for a customer to read and understand.
Most manufacturers and distributors don’t keep an in-house writer. Face it, who needs a writer on staff all the time? But what that means is one of two things.
1) You’re having your writing done in house by someone who knows the product, but isn’t necessarily the world’s best writer.
2) You’re farming it out to someone who may be a great writer, but doesn’t know your product.
Let me offer you a third option.
3) Hire a writer who knows the trade and is familiar with the products, a writer who has worked professionally for over a decade in both print and radio. Hire a writer with editing experience; one who knows where to put a comma, and where to put a semicolon.
And hire her only when you need her.
